Necdet Ozturk
He was born on 11/01/1963 in the town of Hanak / Orta Kent in Ardahan.
In 1977, after a 5-year treatment period due to a traffic accident he had at the age of 14, he was diagnosed with paraplegia and became 90% disabled.
Since he could not go to school after middle school (8th grade), he improved his skills in electronics in order to pursue a profession and opened an electronics repair workshop in 1982.
In 1996, while he was Mayor of Istanbul, he founded the Foundation for the Physically Disabled together with Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN.
He got married on 06/07/1977.
In 1997, he founded the Turkish Disabled Foundation.
Between 2001 and 2003, he worked as the Founding Coordinator of the Technical Medical Market in İST-Bahçelievler in partnership with “UTM HOLDING”, a Germany-based group company.
In 2002, he simultaneously founded the Dubai Turkish Trade Center.
From 2004 to 2008, he served as the Coordinator of the Yalova Governorate Provincial Disability Board.
From 2009 to 2019, he served as the Founding Vice President of the World Disability Foundation and the Founding Vice President of the World Disability Union.
In 2020, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Global Disability Foundation (GEV), which he founded and which aims to integrate five disability groups and people with disabilities into everyday life and carries out inclusive projects in this regard.
